On September 25, 2017, IPADE celebrated its 50th Anniversary in Torreón, Coahuila. More than 100 members of the business community gathered at the Arocena Cultural Center to celebrate at the Tarde IPADE event.
The event began with a Thanksgiving Mass, given by Father José Luis Rayón at the Capilla de los Ángeles. Once the Mass was finished, Nahúm de la Vega, Professor of IPADE’s Organizational Behavior department, facilitated a session titled “Important Decisions in a Family Business,” which focused on the realities facing family businesses.
Dr. Rafael Gómez Nava, Dean of IPADE, thanked each class of graduates that has helped establish IPADE in Torreón, giving particular thanks to the driving force behind the launch of IPADE’s programs in the city.
“IPADE would not exist in Torreón were it not for the efforts of Eneko Belausteguigoitia Arocena,” said Dean Gómez Nava. “Since IPADE opened its doors in Torreón in 1997, seven classes have graduated from our Executive Training Programs.”
To close the event, the Chamber Ensemble of Coahuila, under the direction of Maestro Ramón Shade Villarreal, performed the piece Horizontes: reflexiones sonoras hacia la virtud (Horizons: Musical reflections on virtue), commissioned by IPADE from Mexican composer Samuel Zyman in celebration of the institution’s 50th Anniversary.
