Recently, approximately 50 high-impact members of the Central American business community gathered together at the Costa Rica Country Club to celebrate IPADE’s 50th anniversary.

Following the Thanksgiving Mass, attendees gathered in the El Pilón salon to participate in a session led by Professor Javier Fuentes. The session, titled “Neural Networks and Your Business,” provided attendees with information on cryptocurrencies and their possible impact on the financial world.

Attendees were then treated to a screening of documentary film produced by Editorial Clío, providing an in-depth look at IPADE’s first half century of training top managers. Oscar Aguirre, Director of International Programs, said, “The documentary that you are going to watch required the digitalization of thousands of images and documents from our archives. It is available in full from Google Play.”

In his address to attendees, Rafael Gómez Nava, Dean of IPADE, took a moment to acknowledge the important work done by the local promotion committee in Costa Rica. “I want to take a moment to acknowledge Mr. Álvaro Sáenz, President of the Promotion Committee here in Costa Rica, and all the effort and hard work that he has put into promoting IPADE among the Costa Rican business community.”

Dean Gómez Nava also mentioned that a total of 103 participants have graduated from the four generations of AD-2 programs hosted in Costa Rica. IPADE Costa Rica has also hosted two specialized programs: Management for the Service Industry and Continuity in Family Businesses.

“Today, we’ve brought you all a little gift,” continued Dean Gómez Nava. “This beautiful symphony is inspired by the life and work of the business community. Horizontes: reflexiones sonoras hacia la virtud (Horizons: Musical reflections on virtue) was commissioned by IPADE from Mexican composer Samuel Zyman in celebration our 50th anniversary. Today, the piece will be performed by the violinist Aura Hernández, the wife of a dear IPADE alum.”
